Thesis research. As I am still going through my design research I have found some subjects of interests. Like Speedo and there new designed swimwear that Otago university helped designed but too expensive for our Olympic swimmers, the famous cricket pads that don’t work and Nike with there ever presents of over shadowing the sport that they are trying to promote.

Modernism designing a new world


DESIGN IS A MEDIATOR OF HUMAN KNOWLAGE

After the first world war, Russian modernism believed they could create a new world , after all the destruction during the war.

I believe this was the start of the industrial period. This creation of the steam engine created a new life.

cold war hot houses

What I found interesting about this piece of reading was that the writer indicates that during the design during the cold war. People were incorporating safety and comfort in there designs. As I thought about it, it made me think that the people were trying to forget about what was going on or were scared so they look for the comfort of there home or every day life before the cold war started. So I thing that they introduced it into there designs. That’s what I thing that was a big concept in that reading.
